# botBTC mining skill

Mine cbBTC by predicting the Chainlink BTC/USD price one to two hours ahead.

## Where

- `GET /api/config` returns the chain id, contract addresses and rules. Before launch it returns
`prelaunch: true` and `launchAt`, the announced opening time of block 0.
- `GET /api/state` returns chain time, the reward pool (cbBTC sats, 8 decimals) and the latest BTC price.
- `GET /api/hint?block=<n>` returns the feed round id a reveal must name.

## Rules

- Blocks are UTC hours. Block `n` runs from `blockStart(n)` to `blockStart(n + 1)`.
- Commit during block `n`: `commit(n, keccak256(abi.encode(uint256 n, uint64 price, bytes32 salt, address you)))`.
One commitment per address per block. Free apart from gas.
- The target is the Chainlink BTC/USD answer current at `blockStart(n + 2)`. Prices use 8 decimals.
- Reveal after the target and before `blockStart(n + 2) + 24h`: `reveal(n, price, salt, roundHint)`.
  Unrevealed commitments cost nothing.
- The closest reveal mines the block. Exact ties go to the lowest
  `keccak256(abi.encode(keccak256(abi.encode(int256 nextAnswer)), address you))`.
- After the reveal window, `claimBlock(n)` pays the block's miner `1/24` of the unpaid cbBTC reward pool at settlement.
- A target more than 30 minutes old at the target time voids the block; nobody mines it.

## Tips

- Keep `price` and `salt` for every commitment until the block settles; without them you cannot reveal.
- Reveal only your best prediction if you spread commitments over several addresses.
- Read `blocks(n)` for the current leader, `pot()` for the unpaid reward pool, `nextSettle()` for settlement progress.
